Although, i can't lie, he feels like a baby.
The story goes: last Monday i got some information about a situation and this dog Jake. All we knew is that he is 10 months old, happy as can be, might need to be neutered, and if someone didn't take him, the owner was just going to basically let him loose. So me and my love of animals, coupled with the fact that Christopher has been wanting a dog again, ever since Gypsy had to leave us. i make a phone call and emails start shooting back and forth. We set up a meeting with Jake for Friday. We are super excited, that this time we will have a puppy that we know some history of.
So the dog was brought to us on Friday, and out of the car comes this bouncing, happy, fluffy Wheaton Terrier. Oh. My. Gosh. He is so adorable! We managed to get more of the story that the owner put him on a lead from basically 7 am until 10 pm daily. He was so full of knots and mattes and was dirty, but oddly, didn't care. He was just so excited to see people! We kept him. He has been a challenge to say the least, but fun when he behaves! We took him to Petsmart the next day and had him shaved down, had an oatmeal bath to soothe his skin and got the "superior treatment." (We were giggling at the name).
So even though it has been rough teaching an "old dog new tricks", he will be so much fun when he is trained.
I have to share photos with you of the before and after trimming.
After the trim!
Looks totally different, huh? He is such a softy though and i think enjoys being naked! Oh! And we renamed him Marvin.
We thought he would be a good distraction in our wait and that is turning out to be true!

Oh, poor Marvin. I bet he is so excited to have a new family!!! Will you let him grow his fur back for winter? :)
OK! YOU COMPLETELY MADE MY HEART DROP! I got so instantly excited for you & then got to the dog part! You sure do know how to make a girl go through every emotion in a second and a half! LOL Marvin looks cold! Shouldn't you have waited to shave him unitl spring?
@ Steph - yes, at least a bit. It was pretty long, which could get messy with the snow and mud around here in the winter.
@ Nicole - i am SO sorry, i couldn't resist though! =) They told us he will have a nice coat again within a month or so, just in time for the chilly weather. It still has been low to mid 70's here, so we have a bit more time.
OMG....lmao at Marvin naked!!! He is freakin' awesome!! Congratulations:) How cool for you guys to give him such a great new home (I can never understand how some people treat their animals, its terrible). We totally want to get a dog someday too...of course we were hoping for the kid first! At this rate, maybe we should go for the dog now too;)
Love the new rocker!!
I'm just happy Marvin's happy! LOL I'll survive (LOLOLOLOLOL) *wink*
