{ getting closer on the windows }

so if you remember just last week i posted about the hooks i was on the hunt for? Well, i am pretty close to making some decisions. Although i'll be in NYC next weekend for a race, so i bet i can find some fabulous and unique hooks there too. I might just wait.

Well, part of what i am doing involved a really fun, but with a touch of modern fabric. I recently stumbled across this website - Fabricworm and it is fantastic! There are so many goodies here. Problem is, i'm now having a hard time deciding which one to purchase!

Here are some of my favorites:
{ treasure maps }

{ peering animals }

{ animal cottage }

{ saffron owls }

{ garden snakes & snails }

Oh boy. What to do, what to do. The nursery is very modern, simple and colorful. I want some pattern on the windows, but not a ton. I also don't want it to be too thematic. This could be tough

I hope you are enjoying your day!

Happy Friday everyone!

It has been such a long week, i'm so glad it is finally coming to an end. I think next week must easily be just as hectic too. I'm so looking forward to the weekend, sleeping in a tad, breakfast with hubby and coffee! (and lots of it, when i can actually sit and enjoy it).

I found this fun tutorial on another blog i read- How About Orange.If you aren't familiar with it, check it out. It is a fun read!

Sass up your weekend java...

Draw your design on a piece of paper, then lay a plastic lid on top. With an X-acto knife, I cut through the plastic, tracing along the design underneath. A tip: you'll never be able to cut the shapes out in one pass. Make many cuts on top of each other until you break through.

Lay the stencil on top of your mug and sprinkle with cinnamon or cocoa. Dust the powder through a sieve or strainer to make a very fine layer.

Since cutting your own stencil is a bit of a pain, you could also get some from Amazon or CoffeeStencil.com. And if you totally dig stenciling, don't neglect your cakes and cupcakes!

Have a fabulous weekend!

{ makeunder my life }

How fun!

Just incase you have never read Makeunder My Life, you should do so. It is a great blog, with lots of goodies. If you have, you are familiar with Jess's weekly installment, Design Your Life. I was so giddy when Jess asked me for an interview this week. I really enjoyed writing about how i design my life and my intentions. Feel free to take an in-depth look here.

Happy Day!

{ some nursery detail }

I have this thought that i am putting on paper for the windows in the nursery!

Once i sketch and size, i'll scan in and share. My brainstorm includes a hook (or 2) and i found these that i just love!

Although if i got the yellow one, i'll paint it another color. Now i just have to figure some measurements and fabric!

Have a magnificent Monday!

My new obsession right now is coasters. I can't stand the coasters i have, as the condensation leaks all over when i lift my glass up. I get mostly worried in my office. So i have been on the hunt for something fun!

Of course, i looked at Etsy first and found these:

Or these fun modern ones...

and of course, personalized ones!

Happy shopping and have a fabulous Friday!

{ finallly! }

I am so excited to share my hard work and determination over the past few months. As my husband told me so nicely the other evening when we were fixing a piece of the website, "persistence is key". I think he was right.

Enjoy!

I will still continue to update this blog as well - in fact, it is getting a makeover too! So be sure to check both blogs for updates!
(And don't forget to get your holiday cards)!

Have a wonderful Wednesday!

{ flea market trip }

I can't believe it took me this long to post these photos, but last week i went with my sister, mom and dad to Stormville Flea Market. It is on an old airport runway that hasn't been used in years. So my mom called and i decided to partake. Little did i know how early she likes to get going! So i had to set my alarm for 4:30 am! (oh, and that was after i asked her for a little more time... she is rather addicted to getting there early). We literally arrived at 8:10 am. It ended up being sunny, but cold. So we had our fair share of java that day.

In case you have never been, or have never heard of this place, it is pretty cool. There is an entire section of antiques and old, vintage goodies. Then you can shop amongst a fair share of knock-offs and even makeup. I cracked up at the amount of sock booths were present, but i digress. There was homemade jerky, soaps and amazing fruit/veggie stands as well. I really think if you were looking for it, it was there!

When we first arrived, i migrated to this amazing display of goodies. Old Goode Things out of NYC. This guy collects some amazing salvaged architectural pieces. There were chunks of tin ceiling that i fell in love with for a large wall in my living room. I wasn't prepared though for this, and so spacing in my dad's car wasn't working in my favor.

He also had some of the most beautiful mirrors!

This is my sister and i goofing around.

I found a booth of fiesta ware. As much as i love white dishes, i have a secret passion for these pieces. I own some bowls and would love to add on accessories. Especially for summer entertaining.

The veggie booths had the most amazing food. The color alone was worth wondering what the heck they were fed! =)

These shoes were something cool too. Talk about nostalgia!

If you are ever in the area, it is worth the day trip. They are closed now for the winter, but open up for certain weekends starting again in the spring.

Have a great week!
