[ tidbits from the weekend ]

7.06.2010

Hi everyone! I hope you had a safe, relaxing and memorable holiday!

We were constantly on the go, drove plenty of miles, camped, boated, ate, drank and tried to sleep. It was too much fun hanging out though! We started Saturday with a visit to my gram. She is 92 and still lives on her own. We try to visit when we are in "her neck of the woods." And, we were! We headed to the Catskills to our friends old country home. It sits on 92 acres and is just pure bliss. You can see an awesome skyline of the Catskill Mountains as you sit in your Adirondak chair and sip some wine. I never want to leave. My sister and her girls came to join us! She lives close by and her husband was working on their new house, so it was great to have the girl time and of course.. Ava and Ellie time!

So excited to see my nieces. My niece Ellie wanted to send me a text after they left that night. My sister walked her through the spelling and she said..."I love you so much i could just explode." Talk about melting my heart.

My beautiful sister and Ava.

Ellie was taking her first 4 wheeler ride, really slow, around the yard. She was so excited. Christopher was her driver! ( What are with the silly bands? Are they like the new age pop beads?)

Uncle Chris making sure everything is fitting perfectly and feels good.

Me and Jen hanging out, enjoying the sun.

Ava found a new friend, Harley!

Once Caleb saw everyone on the 4-wheelers, he had to try a stunt.. on the battery operated one. =)

And so did Ava... no stunt for her though.

Oh boy, does Ellie love her Uncle Chris. She wanted him to take her for rides over and over again. I love that she has lost some teeth and is ready to lose more too.

After a long day, we all pitched tents and camped out. Nothing like our camping trip Memorial Day weekend. We had showers and toilets!

Sunday, we packed up the Jeep and headed to Sacandaga Lake where friends of ours own a small camp on the lake. We haven't seen them that much lately and were missing them, and their (almost a year old) daughter. We hung out by the lake, swam and just thoroughly enjoyed ourselves.

This is the view...

Miss Jaime sporting hot pink!

Out on the boat, sun tired and beach hair. Getting ready for the fireworks.

And the fireworks!

The fireworks show was so wonderful! We were literally sitting right underneath them. All of the lights you see were the boats that had started to collect in the area. When we turned around, we saw hundreds more! It was quite the vision.

I hope you all had just as great holiday and were able to relax!
